Raspberry Sassafras

The first book in this series introduces the reader to Raspberry Sassafras, a cow who moves from the farm to a high-rise apartment with her friend Jane, and learns to adjust to life in the big city. At the same time, Jane discovers that her friend Raspberry is far from being an ordinary cow.

"Raspberry Sassafras is not just an ordinary cow. She has many secrets. She can fly and she can even talk to humans. One day Raspberry Sassafras started talking at the dinner table and asked her friend Jane to bring her to the dog park to play.

Raspberry really enjoyed the dog park, because she could eat grass and play with the other animals. So, when Jane told her they couldn't go back because cows weren't allowed, this really made Raspberry Sassafras sad. This wasn't fair and Raspberry wanted to do something about it.  With her friend Jane's help, Raspberry Sassafras went back to the dog park.

Raspberry Sassafras spoke to some of the people at the park and told them exactly how she felt about not being allowed into the park because she is a cow. At the end, the park allowed all animals in and Raspberry Sassafras was happy.

This book can really show kids how much we are all the same, even if we look very different. I really like that the author didn't make

raspberry a regular cow, this made the story even more exciting! I can't wait to see what raspberry will do next."

About the author

Allison Holland

Allison Holland is a Southern California native who enjoys sunny weather, spending too much time on the internet and making up stories about anthropomorphic farm animals. After spending years as a cog in the machinery of corporate America, she decided to follow her dream and dedicate herself to writing full-time. A little older and a little wiser, she's found that dreams don't have an expiration date and happiness isn't found in a paycheck. She hopes readers of all ages will enjoy reading about Raspberry Sassafras as much as she enjoys writing about her.
